Medical studies in Vienna
I became especially interested in surgery during my time as a student at the University of Vienna. While I was still working on my medical degree I also gained practical experience at the vascular surgery department of AKH Vienna. After completing my doctorate I moved to the department of heart and vascular surgery at KH Lainz.
Formal training as an orthopaedic specialist under Dr Karl Zweymüller
Shortly thereafter I was appointed by Prof Dr Karl Zweymüller to work under his mentorship at the Orthopaedic Hospital Gersthof, where I completed my formal training to become an orthopaedic specialist and orthopaedic surgeon. During this time I was heavily involved and connected with Prof Dr Karl Zweymüller’s medical work, and I routinely presented the results of our work at international conferences.
This sustained engagement allowed me to become familiar with the most innovative medical techniques and provided me with the basis for providing optimal treatment to my patients.
